屋島、後編です。
先日は、屋嶋城（やしまのき）城門遺構復元見学会へ行ってきました。
城とはいっても、戦国時代以降の城とは違って天守閣はありません。
なんとこの屋嶋城は約1350年前、中大兄皇子の命によって築かれた、古代の山城なのです。
We joined the observation tour for the restoration of remains in Yashima.
The remains are “Yashima-no-ki”, a castle gate of Yashima.
That castle is quite different from Himeji-jo or Matsumoto-jo built after 13th century.
Yashima-no-ki is much older than them, it was built in 7th century!
白村江の戦いの後、新羅と唐による侵攻に備えて、屋島全体がそのまま、天然の要塞とされたのです。
ここがその城門遺構を復元したところ。
工事用の脚立が見えますが、当時もはしごで昇り降りしていて、敵が容易に攻め入れない構造になっていたそう。
今後、さらに整備が進められて、観光客が楽しめるように階段が付くらしいので、階段のない城門の写真は、今しか撮れません。
After the Battle of Baekgang in Korea in 663, the Japanese Yamato Imperial Court ordered to build the castle over the Yashima Mountain to defend against Chinese Tang and Korean Silla.
市の文化財課の方がパネル片手に説明してくれました。
背後には高松市街地が広がっています。
1,350年前の大和の兵たちはどんな景色をここから見ていたのでしょう。
