お客さんに紹介できるようにという意識もあって、瀬戸内の島々をこれまで訪ねてきました。
しかし、まだ行ったことがなかったのが、犬島。
逆に、お客さんから「よかったですよ、犬島！」と紹介を受けることがしばしばあり、ずっと行きたかった島です。
We’ve visited many islands on the Setonaikai Inland Sea to introduce them to the guests of wakabaya.
But we hadn’t been to Inujima Island yet.
お休みができたので、急遽、船に乗りました。
We jumped onto the boat!
まずは、直島へ。こんにちは。
カフェコンニチハで朝食。
And “Hello!” from Naoshima pumpkin.
本村港を歩いていると、小舟から降りてくる家族連れが。
そして、その家族連れを見送る舟の主。
これはもしや、あの離れ島のあのゲストハウスの小舟では！
知っている人はもう、わかりましたよね。
これもご縁と、舟の主に声をかけてみました。
短い滞在時間でしたが、あの島のあのゲストハウスを見学させていただきました。

We met a guesthouse owner on his own small boat by good luck!
Thanks to his kindness, he took us to his guesthouse by boat and introduced us kindly.
Yes, his guesthouse is not in Naoshima, on another island.
そして、いよいよ直島からやって来ましたよ、犬島！
明治時代の銅精錬所跡の煙突がそびえ、待ち構えています。
瀬戸内の島々はどこも、それぞれの「空気」があるのですが、犬島でも犬島独特の「空気」を感じました。
この精錬所跡の中が美術館になっています。
ぜひ、行って、感じてください。
We landed on the Inujima at last!
The chimneys, which have stood there since the Meiji era about for 100 years, welcome us.
The inside of the remains of a copper refinery is a modern museum now.
犬島にも家プロジェクトがあって、開放的なアートを楽しめます。
こちらのアートの近くで錦鯉を見れたら、ラッキー。
Inujima also has an art-house project such as Naoshima’s one.
If you’re lucky, you can see great carps here!?
備前焼を貼ってできた、犬島の犬。
犬島は香川県ではなくて、岡山県なのです。

犬島から直島へ戻る船で、若葉屋に泊まられたお客さんと居合わせました。
豊島ではおばあさんの草刈りを手伝ったそう。
いい旅ですね。
We met our guest on the returning boat by chance and he said us that he had helped a local old woman mowing on the island.
What a good trip!
