前のお仕事を辞めて、次のお仕事が始まるまでの貴重な自由時間で、西へとドライブ旅。
若葉屋にご宿泊。
A guest, Mr. U is from Kanto area (Tokyo metropolitan).
He quit the job and is enjoying his free driving trip until the next job starts.
もうひとりのお客さん、Iさんは山陰から。
高松で開催された全国救急隊員シンポジウムへの出席。
若葉屋にご宿泊。
A guest, Mr. I is from San’in area (Japan Seaside).
He visited Takamatsu to attend the National Symposium for Emergency Services.
はじめ、Uさんから「一緒に飲みませんか?」とお誘いいただいて、私と居間でビールを飲みながら、旅話をしていました。
そこに、「枕元の電気が点かなくて」とIさんが居間に下りてこられました。
電球の交換を終えてから、3人で座卓を囲んで談笑することに。
Mr. U invited me to share a beer and we began talking with a bear at Wakabaya’s living room.
Then, Mr. I came down there to ask me to change the light on his bedside.
After changing it, we began chatting together at the low table.
Uさんはこれまでにも、ゲストハウスに何度か泊まってこられた方。
一方、Iさんにとっては人生初めてのゲストハウス。
しかも、部屋は相部屋のドミトリー。
この日は、シンポジウム関連の宿泊が高松市内で約2,000人もあったようで、1月閑散期の平日にもかかわらず、ホテルはどこも軒並み満室か、割増料金で数部屋が残るのみ。
その影響は若葉屋にも及び、シンポジウム出席などのお仕事で来られた多くの方が、おそらくは半ばやむなく、ゲストハウスというよくわからない宿に宿泊されることになりました。
Mr. U had already experienced staying at a guesthouse several times.
On the other hand, this guesthouse stay was the first time for Mr. I.
That night, most of the hotel in Takamatsu was fully booked or few rooms were offered with a higher price because as many as 2,000 visitors for the symposium needed accommodation.
It affected even small wakabaya, many guests for the symposium or work unwillingly stayed at an unfamiliar guesthouse.
全く異なる目的で高松にやってきて、本来は同宿することがないであろうUさんとIさん。
幸か不幸か、座卓を囲んで談笑することになって、Iさんもすっかりゲストハウスの雰囲気に打ち解け、「出会いは必然ですよ！」の言葉が出るほど。
Mr. U and Mr. I visited Takamatsu for different purposes at all and stayed at the same guesthouse in accident.
Finally, we enjoyed chat together and got homelike.
翌朝、Uさんは祖谷、高知方面へと旅立たれ、Iさんはシンポジウム2日目のプログラム出席へと出発されました。
The next morning, Mr. U left for Iya Valley & Kochi by car and Mr. I left for the symposium.
そのチェックアウトから数日後。
Iさんから、LINEで写真が送られてきました。
その写真には、居酒屋でのUさんとIさんの笑顔が写っていました。
Uさんは祖谷、高知、愛媛、広島を経て、山陰に到達。
Iさんと連絡をとって再会し、一緒に飲みに行ったようです。
A few days later since that checkout, Mr. I sent me a picture.
Mr. U and Mr. I were on it with a good smile in a bar.
Mr. U reached to San’in area where Mr. I lives after Kochi, Ehime, and Hiroshima prefecture.
He contacted Mr. I and met him again.
ゲストハウスは、楽しいです。
A guesthouse is a happy place.
