この度、４畳シングル個室に、新たな備品が登場しました。
お布団で休むとき、スマホ、財布、メガネなどのちょっとしたものを枕元に置いておくためのものです。
We newly put small furniture in our single private room.
Guests put their small stuff such as a smartphone, wallet, and glasses on it at their bedside.
このお盆です。

That furniture is this wooden tray.
Now, what is this tray?
実はこちら、香川の伝統工芸、香川漆器のひとつに数えられる、後藤塗です。
去年の秋に、市内の作業場兼店舗に立ち寄って、お盆の用途などを伝えて注文していたものが、春になってようやく、でき上がりました。
いかがでしょう。
This is “Gotonuri 後藤塗”, one of the traditional lacquer ware crafts in Kagawa 香川県.
I visited their shop with a workroom last autumn to order and the great piece was completed in spring.
How’s this?
伝統工芸というと、敷居の高いイメージがありますが、こういったお盆は本来、普段使いする日用品なのです。
しばらくは、４畳シングル個室にだけ置いて様子を見てみて、具合がよければ、５畳半ツイン個室２部屋にも設置予定です。
Though we imagine a traditional craft as something formal, this kind of tray is a daily good.
We keep this Gotonuri tray only in our single room for a while for test and will install it in two twin rooms soon.
さて、もうひとつは、こちら。
名刺入れです。
こちらも同じく、香川の伝統工芸である、保多織（ぼたおり）で作られた名刺入れです。
「どうも、はじめまして」のご挨拶で、伝統工芸品を使っています。
Next is this card case.
This card case is also one of Kagawa’s traditional crafts, “Botaori Fabric 保多織”.
I use this traditional craft in my greeting of “Nice to meet you”.
