2014年の開業時から若葉屋の共有キッチンで活躍してきた電子レンジです。
This microwave oven has worked in Wakabaya’s shared kitchen since our opening in 2014.
操作方法を図と英語で掲示していましたが、それでも操作に戸惑うお客さんを見てきました。開業当時、「わかりやすさ」を共有備品の選定基準にしていなかったことを反省しています。
Although we displayed the instructions in graphics and English, many guests were still confused by the operation. We regret that we did not prioritize “easy-to-use” as a criterion for selecting shared equipment.
遅ればせながら、買い替えました。新潟の家電メーカー、ツインバード製のシンプルな電子レンジです。あたため時間のダイヤルを回すだけ。外国人、高齢者、子どもでも直感的に使えそうです。どうぞこれから、若葉屋のお客さんたちの食べ物をあたためてくださいな。
We finally replaced it. It is a simple microwave oven made by TWINBIRD, Japan. All you have to do is turn the dial for the warming time. Even foreigners, the elderly and children can use it intuitively.
さて、これまで使ってきた電子レンジもまだまだ使えるので廃棄はせず、ジモティーに掲載してみました。ほどなくして、買い取りに現れたのは、香川県内在住の男性。自家用車をDIYしてキャンピングカーになっています。「ちょうど、あとは電子レンジが手に入ればなと思っていたんです。」これまでも車であちこちドライブ旅をして来られたそうで、今度は北海道旅を計画中とのこと。
Now, the microwave oven we had been using was still usable, so we did not dispose of it and listed it on a flea market app. Soon after, a man living in Kagawa appeared to buy it. He has turned his own car into a DIY campervan. “I was just thinking that all I needed to do now was to get a microwave oven.” He had been on road trips around Japan with his campervan and was planning a trip to Hokkaido.
10年間、若葉屋で旅人たちの食事を温めてきた電子レンジは、これからは旅人と一緒に旅に出ることになりました。
After ten years of heating the meals of travellers in Wakabaya, the microwave now travels with a traveller.
