瀬戸芸秋会期の真っ只中の日曜日、若葉屋をお休みにして、今度は私たち自身が瀬戸芸へ行ってきました。
We closed our guesthouse during the Setouchi Triennale 2016 and we went to the Triennale.
着いた先は高見島。
瀬戸芸の会場となっている島で唯一、未踏の地となっていました。
ついに上陸。
Our destination is Takamijima Island, where we hadn’t been yet.
小雨が降ったりやんだりなので、幸太郎はほっかむりでどや顔です。
It was raining a little.
高見島は急な坂の多い島。
幸太郎は左手に杖を持って、お母やんを引っ張ります。
右手には、商店で買ったたこの燻製を握りしめて。

高見島は昔、除虫菊の生産で栄えたそう。
瀬戸芸は単なる現代芸術の祭典ではなくて、その土地の歴史や暮らしを思い起こさせてくれる芸術祭です。

Takamijima flourished as an island of pyrethrum before.
This art festival exhibits not only modern arts but arts which remind our old history and lives that existed there.
多度津港に帰る最終の船が入港してきます。
高見島のメインとも言える作品、「たゆたう庭 <WEB>」で聞いたところでは、土曜日は400人以上、平日でも150人は来場があるそう。
一方、この島の住民はわずか40人ほど。
大勢の観光客と一緒にこの最終フェリーに乗り、高見島を振り返ると、島はもうほぼ、真っ暗でした。
The last ferry for Tadotsu is coming to Takamijima.
A staff at Floating Garden <WEB> told me that more than 400 tourists visit there on Saturday and more than 150 visit even on weekdays, while population in the island is only 40.
When I looked back Takamijima Island from the last ferry, it was already dark with few lights.
