霊山寺（りょうぜんじ） #1 Ryōzen-ji Temple
1番札所・霊山寺から、フェリーと南海電鉄を利用して高野山へ向かうルートです。
This route takes you from Ryōzen-ji (1) to Kōyasan via ferry and the Nankai Railway.
1. JRで徳島駅へ Take a JR train
霊山寺最寄りの坂東駅からJRで徳島駅へ行きます（所要20分 330円）。
From Bandō Station, the nearest station to Ryōzen-ji, take the JR line to Tokushima Station (20 minutes, 330 JPY).
2. バスでフェリーターミナルへ Take a bus to the ferry terminal
徳島駅バスターミナルから徳島市営バス南海フェリー線で、終点の南海フェリー前まで行きます（所要20分 250円）。
From Tokushima Station Bus Terminal, take the Tokushima City Bus Nankai Ferry Line to the terminus, Nankai Ferry-mae (20 minutes, 250 JPY).
3. 南海フェリーに乗る Take a Nankai ferry
徳島港から南海フェリーで和歌山港へ渡ります。所要2時間、2,500円。

同日中に高野山まで行く方は、好きっぷが断然お得です。フェリー運賃と同額の2,500円のままで、南海電鉄和歌山港駅から高野山ケーブルの高野山駅を含む、全駅までの片道乗車券がセットになっています。徳島港での乗船時、和歌山港駅での乗車時、高野山駅等での降車時にタッチ決済対応のクレジットカードで改札機にタッチするだけで、自動的に「スマート好きっぷ」が適用され、便利です。もしくは、徳島港の窓口で、同日中の片道最終目的地の駅名を伝えて紙の好きっぷを購入することも可能です。
For those travelling to Kōyasan on the same day, “Skip Pass” offers unbeatable value. For just 2,500 JPY – the same price as the ferry fare – it includes a one-way ticket from Nankai Railway’s Wakayama-kō Station to any station on the line, including Kōyasan Station via the Cable Car. When boarding at Tokushima Port, boarding trains at Wakayama-kō Station, and getting off at stations such as Kōyasan Station, simply tap your contactless credit card on the ticket gate. This automatically applies the “Smart Skip Pass“, making it convenient. Alternatively, at the ticket counter in Tokushima Port, you can purchase a paper Skip Pass by stating the name of your final destination station for that day’s one-way journey.

- 購入当日限り有効です。日をまたいでの利用はできません。
- 和歌山港に着いたら、和歌山港駅から南海電鉄に乗車してください。
- 改札を出るまで有効です。
- 片道のみ有効です。
- 座席指定車両（特急こうやなど）は別途料金が必要です。
Important Notes:

- Upon arrival at Wakayama Port, board the Nankai Train from Wakayama-kō Station.
- Valid until exiting the ticket gates.
- Valid for one-way travel only.
- Reserved seats (such as the Limited Express Kōya) require an additional fare.
4. 南海線に乗る Take a Nankai train
和歌山港駅から南海電鉄に乗って和歌山市駅へ。南海本線に乗り換えて天下茶屋駅へ。南海本線の特急サザンは指定席にさえ座らなければ、別途料金は不要です。
天下茶屋駅でさらに南海高野線に乗り換えて、終点の極楽橋駅まで。高野線の特急列車は全車指定席で特急券が必要です（極楽橋まで790円。4月1日から1,100円）。安く行きたい方は快速急行や急行に乗りましょう。
極楽橋駅で南海高野山ケーブルに乗り換えて高野山駅まで行けば、到着です。
和歌山港駅から高野山駅まで、所要3時間20分前後。
From Wakayama-kō Station, take the Nankai train to Wakayama-shi Station. Change to the Nankai Line and proceed to Tengachaya Station. On the Nankai Line, no additional charge is required for the Limited Express “Southern” if you do not occupy a reserved seat.
At Tengachaya Station, change again to the Nankai Kōya Line and proceed to the terminus, Gokurakubashi Station. All carriages on the Kōya Line LIMITED express trains are reserved seating, requiring a limited express ticket (790 JPY to Gokurakubashi. From 1 April: ¥1,100). For a cheaper journey, take the rapid express or express trains, not the LIMITED express.
Transfer to the Nankai Kōyasan Cable Car at Gokurakubashi Station and proceed to Kōyasan Station to reach your destination.
From Wakayama-kō Station to Kōyasan Station, the journey takes approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes.
高野山ケーブル Kōyasan Cable
この南海線ルートは好きっぷ利用でタダ同然ですが、和歌山から天下茶屋駅まで北上してから、橋本駅まで南下するので遠回りになります。他方、和歌山からJR和歌山線で橋本駅まで東へ一直線に行ったほうが断然早いように見えます。タイミングにもよりますが、JR和歌山線ルートの方が若干早いものの、橋本駅まで行く列車は1時間におよそ1本しかなく、普通列車しかないので思ったほどは早く着けません。
This Nankai train route is practically free with the Skip Pass, but it involves a detour as it heads north from Wakayama to Tengachaya Station before heading south to Hashimoto Station. On the other hand, travelling east directly from Wakayama to Hashimoto Station via the JR Wakayama Line appears significantly quicker. While the JR Wakayama Line route is slightly faster depending on timing, trains to Hashimoto Station run only about once an hour and are limited to local services, so you won’t arrive as quickly as you might expect.
B. 霊山寺のあと、高速バスと鉄道で高野山へ
After #1, go to Koyasan by highway bus
1番札所・霊山寺から、高速バスと南海電鉄を利用して高野山へ向かうルートです。
This route takes you from Ryōzen-ji (1) to Kōyasan using the express bus and the Nankai Railway.
1. 高速バスに乗る Take an express bus
霊山寺から徒歩20分、鳴門西PA内にある鳴門西バス停から大阪行きの高速バスに乗ります。鳴門西からなんばまでは所要約2時間半3,900円前後。
From Ryōzen-ji, it is a 20-minute walk to Naruto Nishi Bus Stop within Naruto Nishi Parking Area, where you can board the express bus bound for Osaka. The journey from Naruto Nishi to Namba takes approximately two and a half hours and costs around 3,900 JPY.

2. 南海線に乗る Take a Nankai train
南海難波駅から高野線に乗って、終点の極楽橋駅まで行きます。高野線の特急列車は全車指定席で特急券が必要です（極楽橋まで790円。4月1日から1,100円）。安く行きたい方は快速急行や急行に乗りましょう。
Take the Kōya Line from Nankai Namba Station and travel to the terminus, Gokurakubashi Station. All carriages on the Kōya Line LIMITED express trains are reserved seating, requiring a limited express ticket (790 JPY to Gokurakubashi. From 1 April: ¥1,100). For a cheaper journey, take the rapid express or express trains, not the LIMITED express.
南海なんば駅 Nankai Namba Station
極楽橋駅で南海高野山ケーブルに乗り換えて高野山駅まで行けば、到着です。
南海難波から高野山まで、急行利用で所要1時間40分、1,430円です。
Transfer to the Nankai Kōyasan Cable Car at Gokurakubashi Station and proceed to Kōyasan Station to reach your destination.
From Nankai Namba to Kōyasan, the journey takes 1 hour 40 minutes by express train and costs 1,430 JPY.

C. 霊山寺には行かずに、高速バスと鉄道で高野山へ
Skip #1, by express bus and train to Kōyasan
大窪寺 #88 Ōkubo-ji Temple
1番札所・霊山寺へは行かずに、88番札所・大窪寺からバスと鉄道を利用して高野山へ向かうルートです。
This route takes you to Kōyasan via express bus and the Nankai Railway from Ōkubo-ji (88), without visiting Ryōzen-ji (1) again.
1. コミュニティバスに乗る Take a community bus
さぬき市コミュニティバス Sanuki City Community Bus大窪寺バス停からさぬき市コミュニティバスに乗ります。
Take the Sanuki City Community Bus from Ōkubo-ji Bus Stop.
2. 高速バスに乗る Take an express bus
コミュニティバスを大川バス本社前で下車します。
Get off the community bus at Ōkawa Bus Honsha-mae Bus Stop.
ことでん長尾駅 Kotoden Nagao Station
そこから徒歩5分のことでん長尾駅から電車に乗って、終点の高松築港駅で下車します。
高松築港駅から高松駅高速バスターミナルまで歩いて、大阪行き高速バスに乗ります。
From there, walk for five minutes to the Nagao Station, take the train, and get off at the terminus, Takamatsu Chikkō Station.
Walk from Takamatsu Chikkō Station to Takamatsu Station Express Bus Terminal and board the express bus bound for Osaka.

D. 高野山域内での交通手段
Transportation within the Kōyasan area
奥ノ院入口 The Entrance of Okuno-in
高野山一帯には真言宗総本山の金剛峯寺や奥ノ院をはじめとした寺院群、宿坊、飲食店などが広がっています。
域内では南海りんかんバスを利用すれば移動も楽ちん。ケーブルカー高野山駅から奥ノ院までは5.5km離れていて、バスで20分、運賃500円です。一日フリー乗車券が1,100円なので、奥ノ院までを1日で往復するのであれば、拝観料や飲食、お土産の割引特典もある一日フリー乗車券がお得です。この一日フリー乗車券は高野山駅前バス営業所窓口のみで購入できます。
The Kōyasan area encompasses a cluster of temples, including Kongōbuji, the head temple of the Shingon sect, and Okunoin, along with temple lodgings and restaurants.
Within the area, travelling is easy using the Nankai Rinkan Bus. The distance from Kōyasan Cable Car Station to Okunoin is 5.5km, taking 20 minutes by bus at 500 JPY. A one-day free bus pass costs 1,100 JPY, making it a good value if you plan to make a return trip to Okunoin within the day, as it also includes discounts on admission fees, food and drink, and souvenirs. This one-day free pass can only be purchased at the ticket office window at the Kōyasan Station Bus Terminal.
高野山で1泊するのであれば、南海電鉄の往復割引乗車券と高野山内バス2日フリー乗車券、さらに拝観料や飲食、お土産の割引特典がセットになった南海電鉄の高野山・世界遺産デジタルきっぷがおすすめです。
For a one-night stay within the area, we recommend the Nankai Railway’s Kōyasan World Heritage Digital Ticket. This package combines a return discount ticket on the Nankai Railway with a two-day free pass for buses within the Kōyasan Area, plus discount benefits on admission fees, dining, and souvenirs.
