Japanese-Style Twin Room

Typical Japanese-style room surrounded with natural materials such as wood, paper and "tatami" mat. We prepare a Japanese traditional "futon" beddings on the "tatami" mat to sleep [picture]. The futon is thinner than the Western mattress. It is about 8 cm thick, 100 cm wide and 200 cm long.

There is one room of the same size on both the first and second floors. The one on the first floor is recommended for families with children because the shower rooms are right next to the bedroom [picture].

Should you wish to use only one twin Japanese-style room, you will be accommodated in the room on the first floor. In that case, the second-floor toilet and washstand will be unavailable for use.

The room has a capacity to lay 3 futons, but one of them has to be partly folded (length 155cm) [picture]. It may be felt small, however, will be big enough for a child. Luggage can be stored in the closet.

Japanese-Style Single Room

A simple and small Japanese-style room. We prepare a Japanese "futon" on the "tatami" floor to sleep [picture].

The room cannot be booked on its own. It must be booked together with either a twin room or a bunk bed room.

The room has a capacity for 2 futons, but one of them has to be partly folded or overlapped [ pic A , pic B , pic C ]. It may be felt small, however, it will be big enough for a child. Luggage can be stored in the closet.

Bunk Bed Room

A bedroom with wooden bunk beds for a group of 3 to 8 guests. This is not a shared dormitory.

We can also accommodate small children, but please be careful when using the ladders.

Self-locking Door

The front door can be locked safely with a self-locking system. While the self-locking is switched on, the door can be unlocked from the outside by entering the PIN number provided at check-in. There is no curfew.

Chime

When you arrive at Wakabaya, please press the chime on the entrance door.
If you need anything during your stay, don’t hesitate to call us with another chime in the living room.
The host family lives at the back of the guesthouse.

The local host gives personalized advice for making the trip in this area. Island hopping, modern arts, architectures, pilgrims, local food, cycling, hiking, history, hot springs, local crafts... The answers for any interest of you are ready depending on your itinerary, budget, age and weather too.

Wi-Fi is connectable anywhere in the guest house.

We have a small shower booth and a bathroom.
Body soap and two-in-one shampoo are set inside each.
Free rental towels and hair dryers (at the washstand) are also provided.

Lavatories

2 lavatories on the first floor and 1 on the second floor.
One of them on the first floor is only for women.
A toilet seat for a child is also provided.
