今年は瀬戸内国際芸術祭の年だけでなく、お遍路の年でもあります。
2016年はうるう年に当たり、そのうるう年に88番札所大窪寺から逆打ちするとご利益が3倍と言われます。
さらに、2016年は60年に1度の丙申（ひのえさる）の年に当たり、丙申の年はさらに、ご利益がアップするようです。
そういうわけで、とにかく、ご利益がすごいのです。
今年の宿泊履歴を見直してみると、いろんなスタイルでのお遍路、全部含めて55件ものお遍路さん宿泊がありました。
もちろん、去年、一昨年よりも多いです。
2016 is not only the year of the art festival; Setouchi Triennale, but also the year of the “ohenro” pilgrimage because it is said that pilgrimage in this year brings several times more grace than usual.
We also welcome more pilgrim guests, called as “ohenro-san” this year in guesthouse wakabaya.
今朝、チェックアウトされたイタリアとフランスからお越しのお二人も、お遍路さんです。
順打ちの歩きお遍路（別格含む）です。
These guests from Italy and France are also ohenro-san and walk all way.
2日前に、国分寺周辺の遍路宿のご主人から、若葉屋への電話予約がありました。
そして昨夜は若葉屋で、今後の宿、3軒分の予約電話のお手伝いをしました。
遍路宿は、電話でないと予約ができないところも多く、且つ、英語も通じません。
なのでこうやって、泊まった宿の主人の協力を得ながら、次の宿を確保するのです。
旅をされているのはこのお二人ですが、私たち、宿の主人もまた、宿から宿へとバトンパスをしているような気持ちになりました。
Two days before, the owner of the previous ohenro’s inn called me for their reservation.
And last night, I helped them to call ohenro’s inn for the next reservation.
Most small local ohenro’s inns accept reservations only by phone and don’t speak English.
So, they need the inn owner’s help to book the next inn.
I felt this is like a long baton pass by ohenro’s inn owners.
若「日本でお遍路に挑戦ということは、もちろん、スペインのサンチャゴ巡礼はもう、行かれたのですか？」
男「ああ、もちろん。6回ね」
若「！？」
When they checked out wakabaya, I talked with them.
“You are trying ohenro pilgrimage now. Have you already tried the Camino de Santiago?”
“Yes, of course. Six times.”
若「あなたも？」
女「ええ、私もよ。7回ね」
若「！？！？」
“Madame, you too?”
“Yes, I did. Seven times”
かなりの健脚お遍路さんです。
