日々、いろんな国々からの旅人さんをお迎えしていると、ある程度、出身国によって旅の傾向があるように感じます。
We welcome guests from many countries every day and I think that each tourist has his/her typical trip style depending on his/her national character.
その中で、私が最も、対照的だと思っているのが台湾人旅行者とフランス人旅行者です。
「旅のしおり」を作ってきているのはたいてい、台湾からのお客さん。
旅のしおりには、泊まる宿までの地図や予約確認書はもちろんのこと、電車やバスの時刻表、行きたいお店の場所と営業時間、鳴門の渦潮の満潮・干潮時間まで印刷されていたりします。
何かアドバイスできることがないかと、そのしおりを見せてもらうことがありますが、「Perfect!」と言ってそのままお返しすることも多いです。
For my impression, Taiwanese guests and French guests are the most contrastive.
Taiwanese guests tend to travel with their handmade “schedule book”.
The booking confirmation and the route to the hotel, timetables of transportation, detailed information of shop or restaurant which they checked in advance and sometimes even tidal schedule of Naruto whirlpool are printed on those books.
When I read their books to give trip tips, but I often just return them with “Perfect planning!”
その逆がフランスからのお客さん。
目覚ましアラームはかけることなく、朝、目が覚めたときに起床。
ゆっくりとシャワーや朝食を済ませて、「さて、今日はどこへ行こうかな」という具合。
起きた時間、お天気、ゲストハウスで一緒になった旅人からの情報、そして、そのときの気分で旅を作り上げていきます。
On the other hand, many French wake up when their eyes open naturally without an alarm.
After shower and breakfast relax, “Well, where am I going today?”
They make their travel depending on their wake-up time, weather, information from other guests at the hostel, and their feeling.
さて、先日、若葉屋に宿泊された、こちらのフランス人男性。
若葉屋への宿泊予約は2ヶ月前。
そして、台湾人もびっくり、200ページにもおよぶ旅のしおり持参で、二度目の日本旅行を満喫中です！
ちなみに、この旅のしおりはすべて、PDF化してスマホでも見られるとのこと。
Now, he is a French guest who stayed at wakabaya.
He booked our guesthouse two months ago.
Surprisingly even for Taiwanese, he enjoys his second-time Japan journey with 200-pages handmade schedule book!
