もし杖を持っていれば、こちらは慌てて濡れ布巾を手渡します。
お大師さんの御御足である杖の先をまず拭いて差し上げてから、お遍路さんは宿に上がるのです。
四国のゲストハウスならではの風景です。
A guest in this white costume is “ohenro san”, a pilgrim of 88 temples in Shikoku.
They are common guests for guesthouses here.
先日はたまたま、ふたりのお遍路さんが若葉屋で一緒になりました。
These two ohenro san stayed at wakabaya on the same day by chance.
おひとりはお遍路をなんと、およそ70巡もされている方！
もちろん、徒歩ですよ。
お遍路は1巡約1,300kmだそうです…。
One of them pilgrims as many as 70 rounds!

そしてもうひとりは、スイスからのお遍路さん。
彼もまた、随分な強者。
通常、フランスからスペインにかけてのサンチャゴ・デ・コンポステラの巡礼を、なんと、スイスからスペインまで、徒歩でやってのけた方です！
The other is a Swiss ohenro san.
He achieved the Camino de Santiago not from France but from Switzerland!
Of course, on foot.
このふたりのお遍路さん、言葉はほぼ通じていないのに、お互いに食べ物を分けあったり、情報交換をしあったりされていました。
遍路、巡礼に国境はないようです。
どちらも、道中、ご無事で。
They could hardly understand their language each other but they shared food and exchanged information here.
There is no border between pilgrims.
