どちらからのお越しかというと、なんと、高松市内から。
The first guest in 2021.
It was Takamatsu that she came from.
高松での暮らしを終えて、部屋を引き払い、荷物を車に詰め込んでの引っ越し旅とのこと。
高松生活最後の夜を、若葉屋で過ごしてくださいました。
もともと、ゲストハウスが好きで、香川県内のいくつかのゲストハウスにも泊まられたことがあるそうで、若葉屋のことも以前からご存知だったとか。
She finished her life in Takamatsu, got out of her room, and filled up her small car with household goods.
This was her moving trip, and she chose Wakabaya as the place to spend her last night in Takamatsu.
She is a guest house fan and had already known Wakabaya.
これから始まる新しい暮らしのお話を伺っていると、こちらもわくわくしてきました。
Talking about her new life excited me a lot.
門出の朝。
笑顔いっぱいでチェックアウトされました。
She left Wakabaya and Takamatsu with a big smile the next morning.
そして、同じ日の夕方、また別のお客さんをお迎えしました。
雪国からお越しで、退職を間近に控えた男性お一人でした。
In the evening on the same day, we welcomed a new guest.
He was a solo guest from the snowy area of Japan, who was about to retire soon.
お聞きすると、この方の旅の目的は、香川県内への移住。
今回の香川訪問で土地購入の契約をし、そこに奥さまと二人で過ごされる家を新築されるとのこと。
His purpose for the trip was to move “to” Kagawa.
He would make a contract to purchase land and build a new house to live with her wife.
前日の女性と違って、こちらの男性はゲストハウスが初めて。
「ゲストハウスに泊まれば、１日１組限定だし、宿の人となにかお話でもできればいいなと思って。」
Unlike the woman who stayed the day before, it was his first stay in a guest house for him.
“I wished to talk with the guest house owner, not like in a hotel.”
この日もまた、これからの新しい暮らしについての話で盛り上がり、楽しい時間でした。
It was fun for me to talk about new life in the future again.
香川を去る方、香川にやって来る方。
どちらも、新しい暮らしが始まります。
One leaves Kagawa, another comes to Kagawa.
New lives begin for both.
